Its a NASTY FASHION WORLD!
Chanel Iman moved from FORD MODELS to SUPREME
Lakshmi Menon went from FORD MODELS to SUPREME
Ranya Mordanove went from SUPREME to FORD MODELS
Karoline Wolter went from SUPREME to FORD MODELS
One day your the TOP name in your AGENCY and basically have become the FACE of the agency and the next day your with RIVAL agency and making them your new home. That's what happened in the last two weeks in the fashion world. Women and Supreme founder Paul Rowland and Ford women's division head Caroline Poznanskis switched places.
Paul took top names like Ranya and Karoline to FORD and Caroline took her top names like Chanel Iman and Lakshami Menon to Supreme.
Can you imagine if this happend to IMG and DNA MODELS??!!! Those two agencies are HOMES of SUPERMODELS

Diversity Rules at Jason Wu!
From Top Models Chanel Iman to Lakshmi Menon to new comers Cici Ali (STUNNING) to Rose, Jason Lu had total of 37 looks and had 8 diverse models on his show. It seems like a small number but it is quite amazing to see diverse models on the runways. I have a feeling that this fashion week will filled with diversity.

Black Models ROCK!!!!

1) Liya (IMG) and Jourdan (WOMAN) just got the covers of American Vogue and made history for using the woman of color back to back on the cover. Mrs. Obama was on the March cover, Beyonce was on April and now Liya and Jourdan on the May covers!!
2) And now Ms. Alrenis Sosa is on her first Vogue cover. And its German Vogue. She is the first BLACK model in 5 years to appear on the cover. The last model was Naomi and the year was 2004! Congrats ALRENIS!!!
3) Last but on least, American sweethearts Chanel Iman (FORD) and Sessilee Lopez (MAJOR) are stirring up the buzz on twiiter.

Model Of the Moment (female): Chanel Iman
Chanel Iman on Page Six magazine, featured in NY POST Newspaper
Confession of a black top model: In Page Six Magazine interview, Chanel speaks her mind about what's it like to be a top black model. Her response:
"“It’s not just black girls. It’s ethnic girls in general: Brazilian girls, Hispanic. You really don’t see a lot of Asians either. A lot of designers think that if every girl on the runway looks exactly alike, then people will come to the shows and buy the clothes because they won’t be focusing on the models….It’s not even just runway either… us ethnic girls should be getting a lot of the covers too! I would love to be on half of the campaigns these [white] girls are booking, all looking exactly alike. It’s not right. It’s not fair.”
I agree with her! I do believe designers use all look alike models so the customers don't focus on models and also S/S09 ad season so far, there are only a few (2-3) black models, something has to be done.
In the AD above, can you spot out Toni? Nimue? Victoriya?, Ymre? Katrin? right away?? They all look alike in some sense! Don't get me wrong I love all these girls and like the AD but i would love to see some color woman in it. Please leave your comment on this issue. I would love to know what yours opinion. Thank you!
